about

The Irish Cultural Society of the Pacific Northwest (ICSPNW) was founded in 2014 as a State of Washington nonprofit corporation responsible for the organizing of the Sean-nós Northwest Festival (SNNW).  We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  Recently, we have also registered with the State of Oregon in order to facilitate the relocation of SNNW to Portland. ICSPNW has also taken on the role as an umbrella organization for two other communities, Gaeilge Northwest language community with their Féile Portland event, and Cumann Curaí na gCumar | The Currach Community of the Confluences - committed to the currach-rowing traditions of Ireland. With this restructuring, we hope to further support Irish culture. In particular, and in line with the original bylaws of ICSPNW, we seek to support cultural traditions linked to the Irish language and Gaeltacht communities in Ireland, which fills a niche not fully served by other Irish cultural organizations in the region. We seek collaboration, relationship building, mutual support, and liberation as we celebrate the cultural practices that tie us to the land and people of Ireland. Bígí linn a chairde!
